Facilities Engineering Manager (Finance)



As a Facilities Engineering Manager here at Honeywell, you will hold a key role accountable for overseeing and managing the maintenance and operational aspects of our organization's physical facilities. This position is essential in ensuring that facilities are well-maintained, safe, and fully functional. You will report directly to our Sr R&D Manager and you'll work out of our designated location in McCook, IL. This position requires an on-site work schedule.As a Facilities Engineering Manager at Honeywell, you will hold a key leadership role accountable for overseeing and managing the maintenance and operational aspects of our organization's physical facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained, safe, and fully functional.YOU MUST HAVE:
  • 10 years of building operations and maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or technical operation or relevant experiences
  • Experience with storeroom operations and management or relevant experiences (preferred)
  • Five years of supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, engineering, and architectural blueprints and drawings.
  • Understands basic building system design and operation, i.e., fire system, domestic water system, HVAC system, and electrical distribution system and associated building and fire codes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook) and communicates with co-workers and all levels of management.
  • Candidate will be a participant in the Honeywell Life Critical safety programs.
  • Experience working with SAP (requisitioning, storeroom, and work orders) (preferred)
  • Have valid driver license.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Facility maintenance includes (but not limited): Janitorial, Security and their equipment, Building Maintenance, Ventilation Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Sprinkler/Protection Systems, Uniforms, and Pest Control.
  • Site Security which includes management of 24/7 contract security staff and associated camera and card key systems
  • Storeroom Supervision & Management
  • Group lead for Honeywell Operating System (HOS)
  • Responsible for group's safety and training programs
  • Supervise direct reports: Project Manager, Storeroom clerks, Facilities Maintenance
  • Excellent working knowledge in operation of major equipment, including chillers, pumps, air handlers, and related ancillary equipment
  • Excellent working knowledge of building and fire code
  • Excellent working knowledge of electrical distribution systems; building automation systems, pneumatic controls, blue print reading.
  • Comfortable working with and directing outside contractors.

The successful candidate will have experience in staff supervision and management, including staff selection, evaluation, training, and career and performance counseling; written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively; ability to assist in the development of both expense and capital budgets.About Us
