About the role
PKL Services will be providing contractor Intermediate Level (I-Level) maintenance in support Fleet Readiness Center West Detachment China Lake (FRCW DET CL) at Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake, CA.
Note: This is a Full-Time position but is tentatively identified as a Temporary position. Duration is TBD.
Key responsibilities include:
The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Servicer inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation. Services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air. Prepares Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for storage and transportation. Uses automated maintenance data systems to maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions. Maintains external fuel and grounding systems. Stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications. Stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. Operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles. Maintains vehicle records and updates paper and electronic equipment records. Practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention and safety at all times.

The candidate must be a high school graduate. The candidate must have completed the appropriate T/M/S Aviation Support Equipment Class "A" school or USMC/USCG equivalent. Shall possess a thorough understanding or become familiar and proficient with NALCOMIS OOMA automated maintenance documentation system. Shall be a U.S. citizen and be able to read, write and understand the English language. Working knowledge of the CNAFINST 4790.2, naval maintenance publications. Must have a valid state drivers license. Be able to attain SE certifications once hired to support issuance of a Support Equipment license. Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearances.
Experience/Availability Requirement:
Ground Support Equipment Servicers shall have a minimum of three (3) years USN/USMC/USCG Intermediate Level support equipment experience. Occasional TDY travel is a requirement of this position.

$47.08 hourThis is a full time/ non-exempt/ union position.The company sponsors group medical, dental, vision, basic life paid coverage plans for the employee/family. Employee contributions required.401k planEleven (11) paid holidays per year.Employees will accrue PTO at a bi-weekly accrual rate of 6.16 hours per pay period. (160 hours annual)PTO hours utilized for bereavement and sickness.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
Primarily in a workshop environment but may traverse into high noise areas or near active jet aircraft operating ramps. Ability to both sit and stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key). This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. Normal color perception required. The noise level in the primary work environment is usually moderate. May be exposed at times to moderate discomforts such as heat, cold, rain, wind.
