The PLC Controls Engineer II supports and implements electrical projects for integrated systems or sub-systems. You will help provide planning, reporting and management of electrical projects, in addition to technical implementation. The Electrical Controls Engineer takes ownership of the electrical project elements and executes and/or delegate individual tasks throughout the project life cycle by coordinating and forecasting electrical resources in-house and on site may include other Electrical Project Engineers. The Engineer takes a systems approach in understanding core design features, project elements, overall electrical architecture and manages the scope, budget, schedule, maintaining internal and external customer expectations throughout the project life cycle.As a PLC Controls Engr II here at Honeywell Intelligrated, you will engage advanced automation projects, where you'll participate in the design, implementation, and maintain control systems that enhance operational efficiency and productivity in material handling solutions.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 2-3+ Controls Engineering Experience in a similar role
  • Ability and willingness to travel up 60%+ of the time

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Industrial Automation or related field.
  • Experience with some of the following:
    • E-Commerce Material Handling Systems
    • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programming and Electrical Design
    • Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff Programmable Logic Controller
    • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) programming and setup
    • Network Protocols
    • Warehouse control system software interface and protocols
    • Human-machine Interface system design
    • Scanner and Machine vision system interface
  • Experience with any of the following Tools and software is of value - Logix 5000, Studio 5000, ZoneFlex Configurator, RSLinx, FactoryTalk View, B&R Automation Studio, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SST Profibus Configuration tool, Ignition, SOPAS, Datalogic DataMan.
  • Capability to apply broad knowledge of one professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical/operational practices
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, by consistently taking the initiative to get things done
  • Capability to update or modify working methods in your role by following defined procedures
  • Interest and skill to collaborate with engineering functional teams
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity
  • Dexterity to evaluate and recommend technical solutions based on standard or accepted technical practices

  • Apply prescriptive methodology to project tasks
  • Collaborate with engineering teams
  • Execute project tasks
  • Prepare or update reports and documentation
  • Attends weekly team meetings; reviews scheduled tasks/timelines
  • Lead automation projects for material handling clients. Develop and implement PLC code for the material handling equipment.
  • Review AutoCAD layouts and schematics to program the projects.
  • Test PLC prototypes internally and on site for new/changes in the project.
  • Assess programming and commissioning methods to ensure development of standard coding are met with Intelligrated standards.
  • Executes all test plans on-site, both internal and customer acceptance/BUAT/UAT/FAT
  • Monitors and works from project tasks lists and timelines; reports progress on a regular basis
