Engineering Manager (Maintenance)

Where we are located: Our facility is located in Hopkinsville, KY. This area is a great location for commuters and residents of the Nashville, TN and Clarksville, TN areas. Within a 30-45-minute commute are opportunities to live in the heart of a vibrant city or live in a suburb with all the amenities. We also have manufacturing facilities located in Shelbyville, Indiana and Monterrey, Mexico. Our Corporate Headquarters reside in Adrian, Michigan.
What the position entails: As a member of the Brazeway KY Leadership Team, the person in this role is responsible to lead and ensure success of the Hopkinsville, KY plant manufacturing engineering team as they fulfill their duties developing and improving existing processes. The engineering manager is also in charge of key projects, managing budgets and supporting with technical knowledge to ensure good quality product for Brazeways customers.
Major Responsibilities:
As part of the Plant Leadership Team, contribute to the success of the 5S + Safety program and continuous improvement initiatives, while achieving quality targets, plant performance metrics and engaging with employees.
Lead the engineering group in process design, process improvement and equipment development.
Monitor and ensure project completion timelines and timely response to solve manufacturing process issues
Manage team priorities to provide balance of daily operations support, improvement projects and robust formal problem-solving activities.
Lead and guide project teams to be focused on process capability improvements, scrap reduction, cost reduction and downtime reduction.
Function as a project manager and lead a cross-functional team for major items related to growth and innovation.
Communicate technical information (including training) to non-technical stakeholders and other departments in complex machine design and improvement issues, including economic justification.
Support the review, compliance, and formal approval of process changes.
Lead the review and approval of engineering cost estimates for the plant.
Communicate, collaborate, and maintain relationships with peers, customers, and suppliers.

What a candidate must have to be qualified for the role:
A Bachelors Degree in Engineering
7-10 years of specifically related manufacturing experience
Prior management experience preferred
Strong work ethic and a strong commitment to a team environment
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
Critical thinking and formal problem-solving skills
Strategic thinking and planning skills
Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously and maintain attention to detail
Experience or general knowledge relating to ERP systems preferred
