Sales Executive- Retail (Sales)



Overview:

Baldor Specialty Foods is a leading name in wholesale, retail, and food service distribution, known for its innovation and rapid growth. As a Retail Sales Executive youll serve as a critical link between our premium product offerings and our retail customer base. This role blends sales growth and customer care with a strong focus on relationship building, product knowledge, and executional excellence. You will drive sales through direct customer interactions/service, leveraging provided category/customer data, and seeking out new account openings. This position offers excellent growth and an exciting compensation potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the front-line liaison between Baldors entire product portfolio and retail partners (supermarkets, natural grocers, specialty stores), managing the life cycle of the sale and ensuring continued growth and service. Grow account revenue through upselling, promotional programs, shelf management, and customer-specific strategies. Provide best-in-class service by balancing sales growth objectives with excellent customer support, managing pricing, resolving issues promptly, and facilitating seamless order flow. Understand and leverage in-depth knowledge of the produce/dairy/grocery/MTPO/seafood catalog, pricing structures, and merchandising programs to consultatively guide purchasing decisions. Track and report customer performance metrics. Handle customer communications (calls, emails, in-person visits) with professionalism, empathy, and urgency, ensuring high satisfaction and first-contact resolution. Educate customers and retail staff on new products, seasonal availability, and promotional opportunities. Assist with onboarding new accounts, entering orders, and training customers on Baldors digital tools and ordering platform. Remain adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with evolving sales targets and customer needs.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in food sales, retail account management, or hospitality sales support. A strong appreciation for fresh, high-quality food and the ability to learn the portfolio in depth (training provided). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including strong listening and negotiation abilities. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills. Analytical mindset with ability to problem-solve, identify growth opportunities, and have a comprehensive understanding of retail math. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Experience working independently and juggling multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting. Multilingual skills (Spanish, Mandarin/Cantonese, or French) a plus.

Work Environment:

Hybrid schedule minimum 3 days per week in-office. Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. Fast-paced, dynamic, and high-energy work setting. Collaborative team culture focused on growth and innovation.
