The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Product Engineer located in St Paul, MN or Brookings, SD you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse technical people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving and supporting design-related change control and the associated product changes to meet product/quality/process improvements, supply changes, and regulatory requirements, etc.
  • Cultivating and applying continuous improvement mindset by using multitude of methodologies that include project management (PMP), Agile/SCRUM, Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Six Sigma, and DOE/statistical analysis
  • Collaborating with other laboratory, quality and/or manufacturing functions globally
  • Maintaining product design documentation in compliance with business's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science or related discipline from an accredited institution AND two (2) combined years of engineering, manufacturing, and/or project management in a private, public, government or military environment

OR
  • Associate's Degree/Technical Diploma from an accredited institute AND four (4) combined years of engineering, manufacturing, and/or project management in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: product engineering, product commercialization, product research and development, and/or manufacturing experience in the medical device or drug industry
  • Experience with the effective execution of change management, root cause analysis, issue resolution and/or managing corrective and preventative actions
  • Medical device and/or Quality Management System (QMS) experience such as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Quality System Regulation (QSR) and/or International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485
  • Experience in working collaboratively within cross-functional team settings
  • Experience with test method development, material property data collection and/or setting specifications and translating into product requirements
  • Supporting complaint, plant non-conformance, and Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) investigations, as well as external quality system and technical audits
  • Statistical knowledge and practice [e.g., Design of Experiments (DOE), sampling, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Product & Process Understanding (PPU), Lean manufacturing, etc.]

Travel: May include 10% domestic / international travel

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $95,825 - $117,120, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
