Payment Operations Specialist (Finance)



Position Summary:

Support daily operations and transaction activities related to loan payments, including borrower payments, investor and participant remittances, and loan sale processing. Assist in maintaining operational accuracy by executing established procedures, identifying discrepancies, and working collaboratively with the team to ensure timely resolution. Maintain documentation and contribute to ongoing process improvements while supporting enhanced communication and transaction reporting.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist with processing incoming and outgoing payment transactions, ensuring they are handled accurately and securely.
Support daily reconciliation of payment transactions by identifying and communicating any discrepancies for resolution.
Work closely with Payment Operations Manager and financial analysts on secondary market activities including modifications, extensions, and other actions requiring investor concurrence.
Assist in tracking and reporting on key performance metrics, including departmental SLAs related to remittance processes.
Help maintain system data accuracy and support enhancement efforts by reporting issues and participating in testing of updates or improvements.
Provide administrative and operational support during loan sale transactions including document preparation, bid documentation, and communication with internal stakeholders.
Coordinate with internal teams to support the successful placement and tracking of loan participations.
Maintain and update departmental procedures and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency in daily operations.
Contribute ideas for improving transaction processing efficiency and accuracy.
Support positive and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Represent Community Bank Shares Inc and/or its subsidiaries in a professional manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong attention to detail with basic mathematical aptitude; proficiency in Excel.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to collaborate and support team-oriented tasks.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and financial software systems.


Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
1-3 years of experience in commercial loan operations, payment processing, or banking support functions.
Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, high-volume environment.
