Student Development Coordinator (Finance)



Student Conduct and Ethical Development (SCED) is part of the Associate Vice President/Dean of Students staff within Student Success. SCED has six (6) fulltime professional staff, one fulltime administrative support staff, one graduate assistant, and Federal Work Study student assistant(s). Additionally, faculty, staff, and students serve as volunteers on the University Conduct Board (UCB) to support the mission of SCED. Student Conduct and Ethical Development (further referred to as \"SCED\" supports the goals, mission, values, and visions of the University of South Florida by promoting responsibility and adherence to the standards of behavior outlined in the Student Code of Conduct. SCED collaborates with the USF community to advocate for a safe environment that
promotes personal accountability and supports student success. SCED facilitates educational opportunities through meaningful interactions with students to encourage their academic, emotional, and professional development. The goal of SCED is to create environments that empower students to engage as ethical citizens in a diverse global society.Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree, with at least one year of experience in a student affairs or student personnel position; or a Master's degree in College Student Affairs, Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education or related field. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in College Student Affairs, Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education or related field. Demonstrated practice in student conduct investigation and adjudication experience in a university setting. Training and/or certification in conflict mediation. Preferred knowledge of student conduct database systems (e.g. Maxient). Experience in student conflict resolution, residential life, student conduct, or a related field within student affairs/student success.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

  • Develops and facilitates SCED outreach and education initiatives for the campus community. Serves as the SCED liaison for campus and community partners/departments. Supports campus partners in the implementation of educational and awareness initiatives.

  • Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to investigating student conduct cases within the purview of the Student Code of Conduct. Serve as a Hearing Officer to adjudicate student conduct cases and assign sanctions as appropriate.

  • Assists in the development and facilitation of educational workshops to include research and benchmarking to determine best practices and current trends/topics.

  • Monitors and tracks student conduct cases through the student conduct process utilizing the conduct database system. Assists in compiling all educational workshop and outreach initiatives data (monthly, each semester, and annually). Additionally, assist the Director in conducting student conduct processes and outreach initiative assessment.

  • Assists in the coordination, recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of University Conduct Board members.

  • Performs other duties as assigned, to include serving as Essential Personnel.
