Design Automation Engineer II (Germantown/Atlanta) (Finance)

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related engineering field or 5+ years of Equivalent Solidworks or Design Experience
  • 5+ years of design and drafting experience is required in an architectural, structural, or mechanical design environment
  • Intermediate understanding of bills of material, manufacturing and product structures
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must possess strong decision-making abilities
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires the ability to read, interpret, and comprehend technical documents
  • Requires the ability to clearly communicate technical requirements
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience with Solidworks required
  • Experience using PLM/PDM software such as Windchill, SolidWorks PDM, ENOVIA, etc...
  • Must understand and be able to author basic programming logic and syntax (Visual BASIC or JavaScript preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment

TK Elevator is seeking an experienced Design Automation Engineer II located in Germantown, TN or Atlanta, GA.

This role will design, analyze, and validate parts of or whole elevator systems. The position includes development of high-level product requirements and specifically focuses on product specification, design for configurability, and automating systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Implement engineering and manufacturing changes to automate Solidworks solid models via Confgit Engineering platform to provide data for downstream teams and systems.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and data sheets
  • Works under general supervision, relies on limited instructions and pre-established guidelines
  • Uses basic programming to configure elevator systems based on engineering documentation
  • Test and debug automation content outputs from the design automation application
  • Maintain/develop department owned templates, calculation sheets, and reference documents
  • Support and implement enhancements to the design automation application and supporting interfaces
  • Assist in developing design validation models and configurations for new product development projects
  • Support engineering and Customer Service Center in writing configuration rules related to design automation
  • Works in team environment with engineers, configurators, and representatives from sales and IT
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and company safety standards
  • Adheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional
