Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Position Overview:
Lakeside Book Company - Willard is seeking a dedicated Continuous Improvement Process Engineer to lead efforts to improve processes, reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance quality through proven improvement methods. Identify opportunities, develop plans, and work with teams across departments to drive operational excellence. Promote the benefits of continuous improvement and help others understand its impact.
As a CI Process Engineer, you will:
- Analyze manufacturing processes and data to identify problems and solutions.
- Develop and implement plans to improve quality, cycle time, productivity, and equipment uptime.
- Address process inefficiencies and waste.
- Use problem-solving tools like DMAIC and PDCA to find and fix issues.
- Track key performance metrics and drive improvement initiatives.
- Help reduce process variation and improve efficiency.
- Lead team meetings and projects to measure and sustain improvements.
- Train team members on continuous improvement techniques and statistical analysis.
- Collect and interpret data to evaluate current processes.
- Create reports, charts, and visual aids to communicate findings.
- Manage improvement projects from start to finish.
- Communicate professionally and positively across the organization.
- Participate in special projects and travel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or related field, with 5-7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with experience using structured tools like DMAIC or PDCA.
- Knowledge of waste reduction and process optimization.
- Project management and facilitation skills; certification like Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop solutions.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
- Strong communication skills-clear, courteous, and adaptable to different audiences.
- Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willing to travel as needed.
