Research Technologist (Finance)



The Klorig Lab at Nemours seeks a motivated Research Technologist I to conduct research for both internally and externally funded projects in the field of neuroscience with a focus on epilepsy and sleep dependent memory processing.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs a range of experiments and data analysis under the direction of the Lab Head (Dr. Klorig) or a Research Associate.
  • Performs and assists with stereotaxic surgeries (mice)
  • Works with Matlab or Python to analyze data
  • Assists with 3D printing and hardware development efforts
  • Animal handling and colony management (mice)
  • Performs histology and confocal microscopy
  • Purchasing and inventory management
  • May be required to perform experiments during certain weekends or after hours (depending on the need of experiment).
  • Assist with maintenance and operations in the laboratory.
  • Maintains organized and detailed handwritten and computerized records of work performed.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills conducive to working in a team.

Qualifications/ Expected Skills:
  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor Degree preferred
  • 2 years significant laboratory experience preferred
  • Laboratory management
  • Microscopy skills and image processing
  • Animal handling experience (mice or rats)
  • Coding experience (any language but MATLAB or Python experience is a plus)
  • Ordering
  • Preparation of standard laboratory solutions
