Job Summary

The Director, Global Program Management will be based in Farmington Hills, MI reporting to the VP, Global Program Management. In this role you will ensure there is appropriate interface with the Customer and Flex cross functional departments (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, etc). You will focus on tactical execution of the program schedule/plan, continue to monitor, and reduce program risk and maximizing program profitability from award to 90 days post SOP. You will foster the strategic relationship between Flex and the Customer.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop a program timing plan and schedule to meet customer and Flex milestones.

  • Ensure resources are in place per the resource plan and manage team meetings to drive deliverables and execution.

  • Maintain an issues list in Shield and schedule FPLC reviews and financial gate review meetings.

  • Report status at specified meetings and ensure regular updates in Shield ProVx.

  • Manage program budget (ED&T, CapEx, Customer Funded Tooling, Launch Costs) and conduct FGRs.

  • Lead the team in identifying cost reduction and improvement opportunities using the AUTCR process.

  • Manage engineering changes pre-SOP, ensuring they are quoted for OP improvement.

  • Attend customer meetings as Flex's representative and support achieving CBU metrics.

  • Maintain global customer relationships and facilitate communication between the customer and Flex sites.

  • Co-ordinate programs across different Flex organizations and functions, input into operational strategies, and ensure the sharing of best practices.

  • Participate in enhancing Flex internal processes.

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in program administration/ management or related area. 

  • Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses relationship skills.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
