Dir, Finance Helium-Rare Gases (Finance)



Director Finance Helium - Rare Gases Location: The Woodlands, TX The Director of Finance, Global Helium will be accountable for reporting on Linde enterprise helium sales of $1.3B and rare gas sales of $300M. These responsibilities include the global consolidation for the month-end close process, corporate / business reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, planning, and capital investment analysis. Responsibilities • Support leadership team in developing a Helium and Rare Gases P&L forecast, planning and monthly reporting that is integrated with strategic and operational plans that support the Company's financial goals and objectives. • Work closely with Segment and Region Finance leaders to develop and report out on Linde's Enterprise Helium & Rare Gas sales, volume, selling price and overall profitability. Including evaluation of global inventories of rare gases. • Manage financial analysis of business and product-line initiatives including data mining/opportunity identification to provide recommendations that support objectives. • Partner with leadership team to identify business and financial risks, prepare and execute P&L budget and strategy, analyze financial variances to initiate appropriate action, monitor and manage key business drivers of financial results, appropriately communicate business trends and results to senior staff. • Lead capital projects financial analysis across the business to ensure projects are linked to strategy and guide optimal capital allocation. • Accurately and timely measurement of helium inventories to ensure proper expense and inventory accounting. Including consideration of alternate inventory measurement practices to minimize exposure to changes in helium prices & costs. • Lead evaluation and implementation of business intelligence initiatives (tools/process) that enhance reporting systems, quality, and timeliness for optimal business decisions. • Ensure related financial targets and in-process performance measures are effective and enabling optimal results. Partner with cross-functional leaders to continuously improve measures. • Work closely with leadership team to ensure business unit compliance and oversee the integration of finance and accounting discipline into the business. • Collaborate with productivity and digitalization teams on projects around accounting standardization tools to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for various transactions. • Provides economic analyses, studies, and counsels on all matters of potentially significant financial impact to the business unit, including economic/competitive trends, pricing, cash flow, product line evaluation, capital expenditure analysis and new investment considerations. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, MBA preferred. • Minimum fifteen (15) years' experience in Finance or Accounting. • Ability to manage complex, meet deadlines and deliver results with a high sense of urgency. • Ability to leverage financial insights to influence strategy and operations; Applies innovation to financial processes to support growth and cost optimization. • Communicates strategic business objectives to lead and implement change. • Ability to analyze a breadth of data for relationships and in-depth understanding in order to influence financial plans and continuous process improvement. • Effective communication across all levels of the organization.
