Job Title: Engineering Manager
Reports to: SBU Director
Schedule: Typical office hours M-F, hours may vary at times including a flexible hybrid schedule
Summary:
The Engineering Manager will drive and oversee engineering operations within Halton. This role will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, ensuring efficiency of processes, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and maintaining high standards of quality. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the companys strategic goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties may include the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary to support quality goals and objectives.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development. Develop engineering plans, including defining work scope, objectives, timelines and resource requirements within the engineering department.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the engineering department Oversee product development and engineering to align customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities.Lead internal efforts and communication regarding the management of product technical requirements, specifications and standardsAct as the point of contact and interface with customers regarding product technical concernsWork with engineering staff and plant personnel concerning product testing and customer testing requirementsAct as the technical expert for sales, regulatory bodies and internal personnel to include providing technical documentationVerify efficiencies with regards to Assembled drawing and information packages for manufacturing teamsValidates accuracy of bill of materials, drawings, technical documents, etc.Provide periodic reports and information to management when needed.Participate in both global and local meetings both in person and via teams.Other duties that may be assigned to meet overall company objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field is required; master's degree preferred.10 years or more of relevant work experience as well as proven success in positions of leadership. Experience in sheet metal fabrication required. HVAC experience preferred. Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or similar design software. Experience with ERP systems, D365 preferred. Capability in budgeting and cost control techniques to monitor project expenditures, optimize resource utilization, and ensure projects remain within budget. Capability to align project objectives with broader organizational goals, anticipate future needs, and develop strategic plans to achieve long-term success. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders. Willingness for occasional travel domestically and internationally.Previous Lean Six Sigma experienceAbility to communicate effectively with all audiencesAbility to safely and successfully perform any/all essential job functions.Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance.Compliance with all personnel policies and practices.
