Plumbing Technician (Pipe) (Construction)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Remove and reinstall pumps, filters, manifolds and valves Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs to piping systems of various materials (PVC, copper, PEX, CuNi, stainless steel, etc.) using various joining methods (solder, glue, radial crimp, flare, compression, etc.) Clean, service, repair or replace piping systems and components Perform pressure tests and return system back into service Install high end toilets, bidets, sinks, shower heads and fixtures Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and marine classification standards that apply to the job Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs Communicate timely updates to management, co-workers, to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities Works closely with co-workers, management and safety coordinator to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations
Technical and Physical Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Experience with repairing various plumbing fixtures and fluid systems Proficient with the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instrumentsIdentifies, communicates, and resolves problems in a timely mannerGathers and analyzes informationWorks well in group and individual problem-solving situations Valid drivers license Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure (imperial and metric), using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schematic form Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs
