 About the Role:

As a Plumber - Maintenance Mechanic, you'll be part of the crew that keeps its plumbing systems flying smoothly on the ground. You'll help ensure that every water supply line, sewage system, and drainage network in our terminals and airport facilities is operating at cruising altitude: safe, efficient, and ready for takeoff 24/7.  Your mission will include maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing systems across the airport campus, making sure we meet safety regulations and keep operations flowing for passengers, staff, and visitors alike.

This position will be either 2nd shift working from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm or 3rd shift from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. The schedule will be either Sunday through Thursday (with Friday and Saturday off) or Tuesday through Saturday (with Sunday and Monday off).

Compensation:

  • Maximum – Based on experience
  • Minimum - $23.76

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including water, gas, sewage, and drainage systems within facilities of the airport (terminals, administrative buildings, other facilities).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing-related issues such as leaks, blockages, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Respond to plumbing-related emergencies, including burst pipes, sewer backups, and faulty water supply lines in public areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and airport standards.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance teams and contractors to coordinate plumbing repairs and upgrades.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan plumbing system layouts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure long-term reliability of plumbing systems and minimize downtime.
  • Install and maintain water heaters, fixtures, and pumps in terminals and other facilities.
  • Participate in winter weather preparedness by ensuring plumbing systems are properly insulated and functioning during cold weather events.
  • Actively participate as a member of the entire maintenance department, providing support for tasks outside of plumbing, such as general maintenance or repairs in other areas, to ensure smooth airport operations as needed.
  • Performs additional related work as required.

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or Apprentice Program

 Experience:

Required:

  • 2 or more years of experience in the Electrical trade

Preferred:

  • 4 or more years of experience in the Electrical trade

 Licenses or Certifications:

Required:

  • Valid NC Driver's License

Preferred: 

  • CDL class B License (or ability to obtain within 9 months)
