Staff Development Coordinator RN (Project Management)



Fall River Health Services is looking for a Staff Development Coordinator RN. In this position youwill utilize the nursing process to assess practice gaps, identify learning needs, facilitate positive learning environments, and evaluate outcomes to ensure high quality clinical practice for optimal patient care outcomes. Assisting as needed with coordinating and conducting orientation of new hires and coordinating the educational needs of the clinical caregivers.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Schedule: 36 hours a week. Includes nights and weekends. 12-24 hours staff development 24-36 hours of direct patient care in ED or Med/Surg. Shifts will vary based on staffing needs.
Responsibilities:
Design and instruct/teach content and/or assignments for staff development with focus on safe clinical practice and document outcomes of educational initiatives and programs
Implement clinical orientation of new personnel and evaluate competencies and areas which may require educational support
Maintain associate training and in service records including but not limited to certifications (BLS, ACLS, Etc.) for all caregivers.
Utilize simulation scenarios for educational trainings/competencies.
Perform gap analysis to identify caregiver education needs.
Design and implement caregiver competencies.
Serve as a mentor for new clinical caregivers.
Offer real-time clinical support in the emergency department, medical surgical and outpatient areas.
Work closely with trauma coordinator to design and implement community education.
Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients and caregivers.
Help coordinate and teach internal BLS, ACLS, and PALS classes. Enroll caregivers in courses as needed.
Work closely with CNA class coordinator to facilitate clinicals and skills review.
Maintains current clinical competencies to deliver safe, effective care in fast-paced environments such as the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical units.
The average range for this position is $34.00- $39.00/hour, depending on years of experience.
