Digital Executive Producer, KGUN (Information Technology)



Join our team at KGUN in Tucson as we connect our community with essential news and information across digital platforms. As our Digital Content Manager, you'll shape the online experience for our audiences while driving innovation and growth. This role requires a strategic mind, journalistic integrity, and a passion for serving our neighborhoods through compelling digital content.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work with digital content producers and developers to execute content strategies
  • Coordinate daily news operations for websites and other digital platforms in collaboration with news management
  • Monitor web analytics daily to assess user experience and engagement
  • Develop tactical plans to grow web page views and unique visitors
  • Optimize site content based on live metrics and user experience best practices
  • Enhance news content with outside links, maps and slideshows
  • Establish processes for multi-media content migration across new media platforms
  • Plan online coverage for major news events, breaking news and severe weather
  • Conceive and supervise special sections and site features to increase user engagement
  • Manage user-generated content across all sites
  • Develop content plans for niche sites and sales-oriented micro sites
  • Collaborate with station departments including sales and marketing on content integration initiatives

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • 8+ years of experience in related field preferred
  • Prior managerial experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's License, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Strong journalism and writing skills including AP style
  • Understanding of current events
  • Knowledge of basic journalism legal principles
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Project leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of content-management systems
  • Experience working with online metrics and analytics
  • Familiarity with web-design tools
  • Creative approach to neighborhood-focused content development
  • Enterprise reporting skills to generate original content
