Community Events Coordinator, Older Adult Services (Education)



Immediate Opening: Community Events Coordinator, Older Adult ServicesAre you organized, creative and compassionate? Do you have experience in event planning and managing engaging programs for seniors?
JFSA of Cleveland is looking for a Community Events Coordinator, who will work approximately thirty-five hours a week and manage event logistics, transportation, and meals for older adults residing in the Cleveland/Akron area. You'll be working with lay leaders and staff to host annual committee meetings, monthly events, support daily transportation, and ensure healthy food is delivered to those in need. This role requires prior experience working with older adults, prior experience as a program/event planner, and a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develops and implements creative and high-value social and recreational programming for older adults.
· Responsible for maintaining the annual program calendar.
· Arranges program logistics including transportation, venue, attendance, and food.
· Attends all programming to ensure appropriate staffing is present.
· Assists in the coordination of annual Mitzvah Day event.
· Coordinates bi-annual food card delivery for Holocaust survivors.
· Administration of annual committee meetings - RSVPs, set up/take down, and minutes.
· Provides a positive, supportive and motivational atmosphere during activities.
· Researches and suggests new ideas for activities, taking into consideration participants' interests and abilities.
· Comes to activities prepared with appropriate supplies, resources, and/or equipment.
· Consults with marketing and communications staff on any relevant marketing and press materials.
· Adheres to designated program budget.
· Keeps programmatic documentation (ie. mileage, expenses, timekeeping, and supplies) up-to-date and accurate.
· Acts as the central intake for all incoming Shuttle-on-the-Go transportation requests. Record transportation requests and relay pertinent information to HDM/Transportation Coordinator. Secure rides and communicate regularly with drivers. Enter rides into GPS system for drivers. Make reminder calls to clients scheduled for rides.
· Drives the Agency shuttle as needed to and from events.
· Handles crisis and emergencies in an appropriate manner and completes all necessary related paperwork within a specified time frame.
· Communicates any changes in clients' health/behavior to care navigators, case workers, and home care staff.
· Demonstrates awareness of all safety policies and procedures and adheres to all recommended safe work practices. Contribute to the control of hazards in specified area of responsibility.
· Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
