Fabricator (Manufacturing)

Receive raw metal sheets or sticks and prepare them for the next operations using manual and CNC machines and tools. Interprets parts drawings and work instructions to ensure parts are made to specification. Performs basic quality checks, as detailed in the quality plan, to confirm parts are made to spec.
Job Duties:
Receives metal sheets and sticks from the stockroom. Uses part drawings and specifications to determine the optimal approach to making production parts. Sets up and operates metal fabrication machines including CNC and manual saws, ironworkers, CNC plasma cutters, CNC press brakes among others. Provides feedback to manufacturing and product engineers to improve the manufacturability of parts and assemblies. Provides feedback to manufacturing engineers to help reduce drop. Uses tape measures, protractors, gauges and other devices to confirm parts are made to spec. Handles materials in a way to minimize damage and to keep oneself and others safe. Verifies safe operating condition of equipment needed to perform these duties. Participates in meetings to stay abreast of issues and opportunities for improvement. Performs other duties assigned by management to meet business needs.
Job Requirements:
Previous experience in same or similar role. Dependability and punctuality. Accuracy of work. Good communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. The drive and desire to make tomorrow better than today in an ambitious, yet welcoming work environment.The ability to collaborate with other creative individuals.Basic data entry skills.High School diploma or equivalent education.
