Membership Director (Marketing)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Membership Sales & Outreach
Develop and implement strategic membership sales plans to increase enrollment and engagement across all demographics.Conduct tours, respond to inquiries, and guide prospective members through the enrollment process.Build partnerships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to promote group memberships and sponsorships.Collaborate with marketing staff to create compelling campaigns, materials, and digital content.
Member Relations & Retention
Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for all members and guests.Maintain consistent communication with members to solicit feedback, promote programs, and address concerns.Organize member appreciation events, referral programs, and loyalty initiatives.Track and report on key membership metrics including retention rates, satisfaction surveys, and usage trends.
Operational & Administrative Duties
Manage membership database and ensure accuracy of records, payments, and access control.Collaborate with front desk, aquatic, and fitness teams to streamline onboarding and facility use.Ensure all policies and procedures related to membership are up to date and followed.Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to membership revenue.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Recreation Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.3+ years of experience in membership sales, customer service, or hospitality, preferably in a recreational or fitness facility.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, manage projects, and meet performance goals.Familiarity with CRM or membership management software.
