Production Operations Manager (Finance)

Pay Range: Starting at $97,000 and up, based on experience

1st-Shift

Summary: This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of production at the Cardinal facility. Ensures that production is carried out efficiently, within budget, and to high quality standard. Plans and coordinates activities concerned with production and maintenance of company products/assets and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors, utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment. Continuously strives to improve all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.

The Impact You'll Make:

  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations.
  • Ensuring that the production process runs smoothly and efficiently by monitoring and evaluating production procedures.
  • Identifying problems in the production process and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Managing and supervising a team of production workers, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact/liaison of the plant.
  • Organizes and coordinates manufacturing to minimize waste wherever possible.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Standard Work documentation is up-to-date and followed. This includes taking actions to correct routine audit deficiencies and customer quality complaints.
  • Manages manpower requirements/needs.
  • Works with Production Planning on planning and scheduling requirements for the plant and follows up performance against estimates.
  • Overall accountability for plant safety and implementing related improvement initiatives.
  • Overall accountability for product quality, ensuring quality standards are met and continuous improvement initiatives are in place and procedures are followed along with on-time deliveries.
  • Provides input to the annual budget and capex and responsible for their execution.
  • Administers personnel functions, including recruiting, review and approval of job descriptions and salary classifications, and selection and placement of personnel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry work experience required
  • 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing/production environment required
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office required, ERP required)
  • Excellent management and leadership skills in order to effectively manage and interact with peers and subordinates
  • Proven commitment to quality and safety within the workplace
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with lean manufacturing required; Lean Six Sigma quality training or equivalent continuous improvement experience preferred
