Intern-Administration OB GYN (Finance)



Nemours is seeking a motivated, organized and detail-oriented Intern to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This part-time intern-level position offers a unique opportunity to work on special projects and process improvement initiatives across various medical specialties, including cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, and orthopedics. The intern will support clinical and administrative leaders by facilitating and coordinating meetings, preparing presentations and reports and managing communications.

Additionally, the intern will work closely with business operators and the finance team to streamline operations, analyze financial data, and contribute to strategic planning efforts. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary environment, enhance their understanding of diverse medical fields, and make a meaningful impact on patient care.

Essential Functions:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of special projects within surgical services. Collaborate with various departments to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze data related to surgical services. Prepare reports and presentations to support decision-making processes.
  • Expense Submissions: Accurately prepare and process payment requests, dues or license payment and associate reimbursements.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication between departmental leadership and other stakeholders. Ensure that all relevant parties are informed about project progress and any issues that arise.
  • Schedule and Meeting Coordination: Coordinate and maintain oversight of calendars to ensure an accurate schedule. Coordinate meetings as directed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree program.
  • 3-6 months of job related experience.
