Senior Engineering Manager, Scientific Injection Molding Development and Training (Project Management)

JOB SUMMARY

Location: US Remote

The Senior Engineering Manager, Scientific Injection Molding Development and Training drives technical excellence and process standardization for Plastic Injection Molding at a Global level.
This role provides leadership in Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) implementation, molding technology development, tool and process feasibility support for NPI, and global SME (Subject Matter Expert) development.
The Senior Manager partners with Business Units, Manufacturing Sites, and Suppliers to enable robust NPI launches, operational excellence, and technology roadmap execution aligned to Jabil's strategic direction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead global deployment of Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) best practices across sites, ensuring operational discipline from NPI through mass production.

  • Define, develop, and execute a global plastics processing training strategy — from beginner levels through SME and Trainer certification.

  • Support business development efforts by providing technical guidance for quoting, feasibility assessments, and customer-facing technical engagements.

  • Drive NPI readiness by supporting process simulations, mold design reviews, early process feasibility validations, and initial mold trials.

  • Lead proof-of-concept evaluations and scaling activities for advanced molding technologies, such as cavity pressure sensing, RJG CoPilot, Kistler ComoNeo, and closed-loop molding systems.

  • Collaborate closely with tooling engineering teams to align processing and tooling strategies for robust mold designs and accelerated qualifications.

  • Support site molding operations with technical troubleshooting, structured problem-solving (DOE, root cause analysis), and escalation management.

  • Develop and maintain global processing standards, documentation templates, and best practice libraries.

  • Act as strategic partner to Business Units and Site Leaders to scale molding capabilities aligned with Jabil's NPI and Operations strategic initiatives.

  • Demonstrate strong understanding and application of Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven manufacturing principles.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical career development for molding engineers globally, building a sustainable pipeline of SMEs.

  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership, site operations, and customers.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Expert-level knowledge of Injection Molding Processing, Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) principles, and associated tooling/mold technologies.

  • Strong technical expertise in mold validation, DOE, root cause analysis, and new mold introduction (T1/T2 trials through PQ/OQ).

  • Demonstrated experience with processing monitoring systems (e.g., RJG CoPilot, Kistler ComoNeo) and sensor integration (cavity pressure, temperature sensors).

  • Knowledgeable in Manufacturing Systems (MES integration for molding preferred).

  • Ability to structure and deliver technical training programs globally.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; effective oral and written communicator across technical and executive levels.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology.

  • Project management and team leadership skills with ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, lead cross-functional teams, and implement sustainable solutions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related technical discipline required.

  • RJG Master Molder Certification(s) preferred (Master Molder I and II); RJG Train the Trainer Certification highly preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years recent experience in injection molding process development, NPI support, and manufacturing operations, preferably in a global or multi-site environment.

  • Experience managing teams or technical initiatives across multiple manufacturing locations is preferred.

The Senior Manager, Plastic Process Development Engineering & SIM Training will drive the advancement of Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) practices, training, and process standardization across Jabil's global sites. This role provides technical leadership in NPI support, molding technology integration, and SME development, ensuring operational excellence from early feasibility to production scaling. As a key member of the Center of Excellence, the Senior Manager will partner closely with Business Units, Manufacturing Sites, and Suppliers to elevate global plastics capabilities aligned to Jabil's strategic growth and customer expectations.

The pay range for this role is $135,700 - $244,300. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: November 28, 2025.

As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth, and resilient self.
