Perform a variety of support tasks associated with payroll operations. Process wage and salary payments, audit time entries, and schedule garnishment payments. Calculate and process special checks, file unemployment forms, process new hire paperwork, and create summary reports for management. Utilize automated time and attendance software and programs in day-to-day operations. Handle general inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and time/attendance. Offer suggestions, advice, and solutions regarding payroll processing procedures. Entry-level support role. Performs routine tasks as directed and under close supervision.
High school diploma required
A minimum of three years of payroll and/or accounting experience
Excellent communication and organization skills
Good writing skills
Ability to update knowledge regarding various pay scales according to the position of the employee
Ability to work with high precision and accuracy

Collects, verifies, and stores organizational payroll data.
Inputs changes, which may include changes to employees or employee statuses, exemptions or withholdings, or bank information.
Reconciles payroll-related general ledger and prepares reports or statements summarizing payroll-related accounts.
May interface with third-party payroll vendors.
Ability to keep up with changes in the payrolls
Prepares correspondence to taxing authorities for explanation and clarification.
Follows up with taxing authorities on letters received regarding late payments, penalties and interest charges, researching to avoid penalty payments.
Maintains all files pertaining and to taxing and W-2 information.
