VP of Financial Operations (Finance)

Our Vice President of Financial Operations serves as a key organizational leader, providing direction and oversight to the accounting, deposit operations, and business intelligence functions and serving as a business partner to stakeholders throughout the organization. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer Key duties include: directing the timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); creating and leading a roadmap for organizational business intelligence; managing analytical and computational analysis for stakeholders throughout the organization; measuring and monitoring financial and liquidity risks; leading data reporting and analysis; managing and organizing deposit operations and processing, to include ACH, share drafts, and wire transfers; and engaging in continuous financial forecasting and preparation of the annual budget.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic direction to data analysis initiatives and report dissemination. Creates and leads a roadmap for development of enterprise-wide business intelligence supporting artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives.
  • Analyzes and monitors the financial position of the credit union using complex asset liability management (ALM) techniques, including net economic value (NEV) and dynamic net interest income (NII) forecasts and stress tests.
  • Oversees the production and maintenance of a rolling balance sheet and income statement forecast for use by Senior Management. Performs what-if analyses as appropriate. Produces the annual budget under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Prepares financial and economic strategies, polices, and procedures. Condenses strategic goals into tactical plans for execution.
  • Actively attracts, retains, and develops talent across managed teams.
  • Develops and maintains proper internal controls and risk monitoring activities. Provides tactical leadership for deposit operations functions, including ACH, share drafts, wire transfers, and special account administration.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

Eight years to 10 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A college degree. Related accounting, finance, or business intelligence certifications preferred.

Interpersonal Skills

The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

FULL TIME POSITION

Starting Range: $118,320.47 - $132,406.24

Full Range: $105,643.27 - $176,072.12

Physical Requirements

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
