Job Description
Primary function of position:

This role sits within our Global Brand and Creative team-a multidisciplinary group comprised of design, writing, strategy, production, social, web, and project management. This highly collaborative team is responsible for crafting, evolving, and protecting Intuitive's visual and verbal brand identity, and activating across products, business units, and global regions.

The writing team enhances our brand's storytelling and ensures all touchpoints reinforce Intuitive's brand value. You'll lead and develop a team of world-class writers (both brand and technical) to create content for product launches, social media, films, events, and sales enablement.

You are a leader who can teach, motivate, and inspire teams to deliver exceptional messaging that resonates across channels and audiences, blending creative and strategic thinking at the intersection of big brand ideas and technical details. You simplify complexity and advocate for unique storytelling not typically seen in our industry.

What you'll do:

Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and direction for a wide array of content including brand writing and technical writing.
  • Support and grow a team of writers with diverse experience and expertise.
  • Influence and collaborate with leaders across Global Brand and Creative, Product Marketing, Regional Marketing, Sales Enablement, Internal Communications and PR to ensure aligned messaging strategy and channel strategy.
  • Amplify and shape storytelling that positions Intuitive as the partner for healthcare transformation by focusing on the following key initiativs:
    • Drive narrative development for high impact customer storytelling films
    • Continue to develop our brand storytelling to connect our deeply technical roots with our vision for the future of healthcare
    • Facilitate strategic storytelling sessions with leaders and practitioners to ensure the authenticity and impact of our message
    • Collaborate with creative teams to enhance stories through visual storytelling, multimedia content, and digital experiences

Writing and editing:
  • Strong investigative journalism instincts to uncover and shape compelling, real-world stories that demonstrate our impact on healthcare.
  • Efficiently craft compelling content for campaigns, launches, films, presentations, sales tools, and digital content that reflects the Intuitive brand and addresses customer insights.
  • Translate strategy, positioning, audience psychographics from creative briefs into persuasive copy.
  • Develop messaging hierarchies and narratives for corporate, product, and clinical marketing portfolios for various audiences (physician, patient, administrator).
  • Comfortable driving the regulatory review process in a highly regulated industry.

Video scripting
  • Collaborate, concept, and write compelling scripts that bring our products, core values, and customer stories to life.
  • Demonstrate track record of familiarity with video production-from pre-production through to post-production.
  • Experience in regionalizing messaging in film.

Web and digital copy
  • Plan, write, and edit content for Intuitive.com.
  • Champion web copy effectiveness and actively advocate for content quality.

  • Collaborate with designers and writers as well as strategy, production, project management, product manager teams to create thoughtful and strategic storytelling that evolves our company's brand's presence.
  • Think strategically and understand all aspects of communication channels including campaigns, web, event, social, print, exec comms and film. Proven versatility in content targeted to different audiences and channels.
  • Highly productive and resourceful with the ability to execute on multiple projects and demonstrate a clear understanding of how to prioritize work based on business needs and timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders and incorporate feedback in an efficient manner that drives the team's strategic process and final product forward.
  • An optimistic outlook, a love for the next big challenge, and a passion for making an impact.
Qualifications
Skills, experience, education, and training:
  • 10+ years of writing experience, with 5+ years as a people manager, preferably within the tech space at an agency or in-house brand team.
  • A proven track record in crafting high-impact narratives for brands. Experience in B2B high-tech industries preferred.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-stakes environments where messaging directly influences brand messaging, product messaging, and sales messaging.
  • A portfolio demonstrating diverse ideas, problem-solving, and storytelling.
  • Proven track record of creating world-class, breakthrough work with strong narrative storytelling that emotionally connects with audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure in an environment that can have shifting goals and ambiguous projects.
  • Experience in creating engaging end-to-end campaigns across multiple mediums and channels including print, motion and film, social, digital experiences, and physical spaces.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $187,000 USD - $280,600 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $159,000 USD - $238,400 USD
Shift: Day
