Finance & Accounting - Finance & AccountingAn opportunity is available within Prudential's Internal Audit Department for an experienced auditor to lead key areas across Law, Compliance and Business Ethics, as well as to provide support in relevant areas of horizontal risk coverage within Prudential's corporate functions, including Third Party, Privacy, and Business Continuation. This is a position that provides the opportunity to join our audit team and assist in developing and executing the audit plan covering key activities across the enterprise. The successful candidate will manage multiple audits and audit teams and will be responsible for maintaining relationships with the key business partners within these organizations globally. The candidate will be expected to expand their stakeholder relationships and continuous monitoring efforts across Latin America and Japan. The candidate also has an opportunity to work on other audit risk engagements on an as needed basis.
What you can expect:
Leading all aspects of the execution and delivery of the plan by using Agile principles by proactively managing the projects' planning efforts and audit program, defining the audit objectives, project scope and reporting.
Prepare/approve audit scope, program, audit approach and audit reports for each audit assignment, including international areas of coverage.
Ability and willingness to act both as a team lead and an individual contributor in varying capacities.
Assisting in developing and implementing the execution of the annual audit plan related to LCBE and certain corporate functions.
Serving as a key SME across LCBE areas of coverage. Remaining current with industry views across LCBE to provide legal/regulatory impacts across the vendor, privacy, business continuation, and other operational risk related topics.
Providing frequent coaching and guidance to the audit teams while managing multiple audit projects under the agile audit methodology.
Leveraging data analytics and test automation in support of dynamic risk assessment, audit design and test execution.
Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with Audit Department executives and staff as well as key business and control (e.g., Law, Compliance) partners in the businesses and related functions to facilitate the execution of the audit plan as well as the sharing of observations, information, and ideas.
Monitoring risks, issues, and industry trends throughout the year with the goal of developing and communicating a view as to the design and effectiveness of the processes and controls related to key areas of coverage.
Assisting with developing a talent strategy for the audit team that is consistent with Company and Department goals and objectives, while utilizing shared resources and co-sourcing in a matrix working environment.
Assist Audit Vice President with continuous monitoring meetings, year over year audit coverage, aggregation of key issues for SLT member, and key stakeholder meetings within Prudential.
The successful candidate must possess a high level of executive presence, energy, and be highly collaborative. This position is based in Newark, NJ, in a hybrid model, however the successful candidate can expect to work globally either via travel or video conference including the flexibility to attend early morning and evening meetings when necessary. Travel to business locations within the U.S, Europe, and Asia, not expected to exceed 20%.
What you'll need:
Undergraduate business degree
10+ years of relevant audit experience in the financial services industry
Prior experience identifying and assessing risks and controls with testing background
Detail oriented, able to guide the team and assist with the execution of audit plan, ensuring adherence to the audit methodology and documentation standards
Strong Project Management and Prioritization skills
Prior experience working in a matrix reporting environment and a high level of collaboration skills across various cultures and global teams across different geographical locations
Highly motivated, proactive, critical thinker able to take a leadership role in a wide variety of assignments and be able to work independently with minimum supervision
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to partner effectively with multiple business groups, corporate areas, and other audit teams in the department
Strong Audit Report and Issue writing, reviewing and execution is critical
Broad regulatory compliance knowledge and experience in either a 2nd or 3rd capacity
It'd be a plus if you had:
MBA highly desired and/or respective certifications across Audit and/or key areas of coverage
Previous experience working with the Japan environment, familiarity with the Japanese Regulatory environment and potentially having some Japanese language skills.
Specific knowledge of Law/Litigation Operations and Insurance Compliance functions.
