For 50 years Metropolitan Organization Countering Sexual Assault (MOCSA) has been an essential part of the Kansas City metro region. SUMMARY
This position is responsible for ensuring all functions related to the processing of payroll are accurate and on time. This position also provides additional accounting support including support for grants accounting, cash receipts, and month end close functions.

JOB OBJECTIVES

I. Payroll and Human Resources
a. Collect all payroll and employee benefit data and process payroll as scheduled.
b. Maintain employee benefit data and work with vendors to ensure enrollments and other benefit changes are updated accurately.
c. Work with payroll processor to ensure all wage, benefit, deductions and tax information is processed properly.
d. Reconcile payroll and employee benefits processed, back to invoices and enrollments.
e. Manage the payroll functions and assist in other areas of the human resources information system (HRIS).
f. Assist with new-hire orientation, including payroll and tax information, benefits enrollment and other tasks as necessary.
g. Provide ongoing support to employees regarding payroll and benefit enrollments, changes and terminations.

II. Accounting
a. Provide support for agency accounting activities including cash receipts, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
b. Accurately utilize bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets and software.
c. Post financial transactions; receive, record vouchers, cash and checks using accounting software.
d. Reconcile, correct and report any discrepancies found in the records.
e. Other accounting activities as directed by the Controller.

III. Grants
a. Perform financial activities for grants management including billing, data review, allocation of personnel costs and budget revisions.
a. Assist with grants compliance activities including resource and budget tracking and grant reporting to internal and external users, and assembly of documentation for grant reviews.
b. Compile documentation related to grant reporting, including professional development documentation and time keeping documentation.

The responsibilities described represent the primary responsibilities of the job. Other responsibilities may be assigned as warranted by business needs. The incumbent is expected to complete all assigned duties. Grant funds may only be used for the provision of approved activities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or two years general accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook. Experience with accounting systems, confidential information and clerical work.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business/nonprofit administration or related field. Advanced Excel skills. Experience with human resources information systems (HRIS). Experience with payroll, nonprofit accounting, grants compliance and/or customer service.

Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve non-routine and complex problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions; and interact with staff, administration, funders, and others encountered in the course of work.

WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position; business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. MOCSA offers flexible scheduling with a hybrid work setting.

TRAVEL
Occasional travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

BENEFITS
Full time benefits include 15 days of vacation, 15 paid holidays, 12 sick days, birthday holiday, winter break, 100% employer sponsored health, dental, vision, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance, EAP, and 2% 403(b) match.

The salary range for this position is $56,000 - $67,000. The base salary range for this role is determined by several factors, including but not limited to education, skills, licensure and certifications, and experience. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees, and/or those with advanced credentials.
